Colour Studio / Android privacy
Colour Studio Android Privacy
For Android 2.0 · build 4. Updated 27 October 2026.
Scope and summary
This policy covers Colour Studio for Android 2.0 (build 4), the review APK linked from this website. Its Android version number differs from the iPhone edition. This build has no Internet permission, user account, advertising or remote app-analytics service. Its iPhone and iPad privacy policy is separate.
Learning records on your device
Progress, predictions, saved studies, Play drafts, Notebook reflections, palettes, reviews, preferences and optional classroom records are stored in the app’s private storage. Personal suggestions use saved practice on this device. Turning suggestions off clears the local signals used for them. No Apple iCloud sync or Apple Intelligence service is used by this Android build; critic feedback is computed offline.
Camera and selected photos
Camera access supports live colour exercises, simulation and classroom QR scanning. Selected photos can be used for local colour extraction. Camera frames and selected source photographs are not retained by these exercises. File and photo pickers give access to the item you choose, rather than your entire photo library. This build does not request microphone or location access.
Optional reminders and widgets
If you enable reminders and grant notification access, Android schedules local review notifications. A restart receiver restores scheduling after the phone restarts. Widgets read local learning summaries. These features do not send progress to a CRIT Studio server.
Backups, sharing and classroom records
Backups are created locally and may contain private reflections or imported reference-photo payloads. Keep backup files private. Android-to-Android restore is supported; migration from the Apple version is partial and does not guarantee that every imported field becomes an active Android record. Classroom records remain local unless you deliberately export them. Exported palettes, images, silent reels, reports and emails are handled by the destination you choose under its own policy.
Retention and deletion
Use Settings to make a backup or reset all progress. Reset removes local learning records, Notebook and settings. Leaving a classroom pilot clears its local participant record. Automatic Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled by the supplied configuration. Uninstalling removes app-private data; previously saved exports and recipients’ copies remain outside the app.
Support, children and changes
Contact links open your email app and do not send a message automatically. We receive only messages and attachments you choose to send. A parent, guardian or teacher should review any child’s exports before sharing. Policy changes will be dated here. Contact support@critstudios.com with privacy questions.
